In these troubled financial times....?
How are you making cuts to the household budget (eg, not eating out as much) and have you found your standard of living has gone down, or with making cuts you have managed to remain on an even keel. Personally i have stopped drinking alcohol (saving £60 a week) buying rolling tobacco alongside my normal Marlboro (another £30 a week), and am looking for special offers at the shops.

I am currently unemployed and only get JSA and they deduct my electricity from my weekly benefit so I have £43 oer week to live on and I am diabetic and a smoker so I cannot eat the healthy food I am suppose to and now by rolling tobacco. The special offers I buy is the pastas, you get a lot of them for 3 for the price of 2 or supermarkets own brands that are cheaper, Morrison's has a special offer on chickens, Supermarket soap powder is cheaper than the well known brands, supermarket fabric conditioner is just as good as the expensive one, Morrison's petrol is cheaper than local garages, farmfoods is cheaper for carrots and potatoes for making soup, hope this helps and hopefully things will get better for everyone.

Not at all.
Years ago when everyone one was running around buying houses and getting mortgaged up to their neck I bought a small house, took out a small mortgage and I have now paid it off.
No longer am I affected by mortgage rates and no longer do I have a massive debt above my head so life is actually pretty good and I'm in a good place to ride out these difficult times.
My house might not be as big or as flash as my friends but I don't have to find £800 a month just to live here.

I look out for special offers, but then I've always loved a bargain. The only cut-backs I've made really is buying less CD's, DVD's etc.
