Will intel DG41RQ motherboard support DDR3 Ram(Kingston 2 Gb DDR3)?
I have the DG41RQ board with 2.9ghz dual-core,2Gb kingston DDR2 Ram,Intel G41 chipset. Now i want
to raise the ram capacity by adding another 2 gb kingston DDR3 ram in 2nd port of board. Can anyone please confirm if motherboard support DDR3 ram and also confirm that if it will work with DDR2 ram installed already? Thanks

NO! You cannot use ddr3 ram in a ddr2 board. You should purchase as identical a stick as possible to pair with the already installed ram. Make sure the ram you buy matches as much as possible on the current ram's sticker. this will insure that you get the speed boost of matched dual channel memory

Hii
First think remember when ever u add ram it must on same type DDR2 and DDR3 are entirely different so dont add it and it wont work .and also if u r adding more than 1 ram make sure they are all of same size like adding 1 GB 1 ram and another 2 GB makes u r computer unstable instead use lie 2 GB each.
Secondly u r motherboard wont support DDR 3 as its new and u r mother board only supports DDR2 or below
so here is what u need to do Get 2GB kingston DDR2 ram only make sure its frequency is compatible with u r mother board check the below link for list of rams that u r mother board supports .

I'm sorry to say that the answer to your question is no. Here's why:
http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/motherboards...
Here's a direct copy of the information you're looking for:
Memory
Two 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets
Support for DDR2 800 or DDR2 667 MHz DIMMs
Support for up to 8 GBπ of system memory
As you can see. Your MoBo only supports up to 8GB of RAM.
I recommend you upgrade to the total RAM allowed by purchasing the following:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Sub...
I recommend the Gskill
Good luck and safe computing!

It's physically impossible to install DDR3 memory in a DDR2 slot. Incompatible. You stick to DDR2 memory, period.
