How much would a tattoo behind the ear hurt?

I'm thinking of getting a small tribal symbol of a crocodile to wrap around behind on my ear. Not on my ear, the space right behind it...how much does that hurt? And is it possible to get some sort of skin-numbing solution? Like when I was younger my mom had this cream that would numb the top layer of my skin when I would get shots. I know tattoos pierce the skin so it wouldn't take away ALL the pain but it might help? I don't know...

I have tattoos behind both my ears and honestly it didn’t hurt that bad. It felt like a cat scratch and it was done in about 5 minutes. I would rate the pain about a 2 out of 10. The most annoying part was the sound of the tattoo gun not the pain.

And I wouldn’t numb the skin because they clean you skin off before they tattoo you anyway and the pain isn’t bad at all to even numb it in the first place.

Good luck with your tattoo :)

well behind the ear is a very sensitive spot chances are it is gonna hurt pretty bad but that really depends on your pain threshold. If you take pain well then you will be fine. Numbing cream will NOT work the artist will use alcohol to clean the area before you get the tattoo and will wipe the cream away. Do not use any pain medicine either. If you want a tattoo bad enough you will bear through the pain to get it.

It will more than likely hurt a bit depending on your pain threshold. But the bright side is that I can't imagine any tattoo behind the ear being too large so it shouldn't take that long
