  • How much would a tattoo behind the ear hurt?

I'm thinking of getting a small tribal symbol of a crocodile to wrap around behind on my ear. Not on my ear, the space right behind it...how much does that hurt? And is it possible to get some sort of skin-numbing solution? Like when I was younger my mom had this cream that would numb the top layer of my skin when I would get shots. I know tattoos pierce the skin so it wouldn't take away ALL the pain but it might help? I don't know...

  • How do I tell my mom I had sex?

All right. Well my mom and I have always been really close and open about talking about relationships and sex and such. That's why I'm so freaked about telling her, because she has always told me to wait until I was in a relationship with a guy that I trust and love and who trusts and loves me. That's why I've been a "good girl" and remained a virgin until I was 18.

Well, it wasn't really like that--the love and trust and whatnot. I met the guy at work and we've been attracted to each other since I started a few months ago. And a few days ago I was over his house with the intention of studying for our finals, and I don't know it just happened. One minute we're studying and joking around and the next we're fooling around. And I have really, really, liked this kid for a while and I completely trust him so I mean I'm totally okay with it. And we were safe and used a condom so it's not like I'm also worrying about a pregnancy scare. But we're not together or anything--well nothing has been decided. So I want to tell her, but I'm not sure if I should before everything is settled with the guy or what, and how I would even approach her. I know she's going to be disappointed in me--possibly angry with me--so I don't know what the best way to approach her would be or how to tell her. Help, please?

  • Could I feed a Burmese Python raw/boiled chicken?

I really love snakes, and I've owned smaller snakes previously. I have no problem feeding pre-killed animals such as frozen mice and rats. However, I'm considering purchasing an albino burmese python and I an well aware of how large they can mature to be, and the reptile store I would be purchasing the snake from feeds their adult burmese python rabbits and guinea pigs. Being a rabbit owner, I could never do that, though I know it's the natural way, and I'm not sure if you could get "pre killed" guinea pigs and rabbits, or even if I'd want to.

Now I know this isn't the best place to get information, but I was watching Animal Planet's "Fatal Attractions" and this snake fanatic was feeding his 13-foot burmese python boiled chicken. I was wondering if that was a healthy, plausible option or if I should abandon my dreams of the burmese python and stick to smaller snakes?

Thanks so much in advance for the info, I appreciate it!

  • Hamster breeding? HELP?

I know I already asked this question, but I need a legit answer, not "we don't support breeding". I need to know if it's HEALTHY. We don't know where we can "adopt" hamsters, so it resulted to this--->

Would it be possible/healthy to breed a 1 1/4 year-old male hamster to a younger female?

My Veterinary Science class wants to breed our male because he is the SWEETEST hamster in the WORLD, and a few members of the class would like to breed him to bring a 'piece of him' (hahah jokes) to college with us. So we were wondering if it would be healthy for us to breed him to a younger female, or possible at all (would he accept the female, would the female accept him)?

    Thanks a bunch <3

  • My parakeet isn't chirping...?!?

I just bought an American Budgerigar on Sunday. Well since then I haven't heard him 'chirp' or 'tweet' or whistle or anything! The only thing I've heard out of him is a bit of a garbled sound. I know that he is a young little guy (around 2-3 months old), but I also know that baby birds tweet almost right away...so I've been fairly confused. And at first I was like: "All right, he's just nervous." But today it looked as if he was TRYING to make a sound and it just didn't come out. He opened and closed his mouth quite a few times (not a yawn), but no sound. So I'm a little worried....should I be?

  • How old is my parakeet?

I just purchased a parakeet (American Budgerigar) from PETCO (I know, bad me. bad, bad me), and I purchased him for three reasons: he's adorable, he looked healthy (bright eyed, clean feathers), and he was obviously young (bands down to the cere). But now that he's in his new home and I've had an up-close-and-personal view at him, he appears much younger than I originally thought. The bands are extremely prominent (completely black) all the way down to his cere, and his eyes do not have a hint of gray, they are completely black all around.

So I've been around the sites that are allowed through my school's filter system, and it seems that he is younger than 4 months old. I was wondering if there was any way to get a more accurate age, because if he is so very young, are there any special feeding/care options that I have to take care to pursue?

Thanks for the help in advance!!

  • Where Should I Get a Parakeet?

I'm planning on getting a parakeet (American Budgerigar), within the next two weeks or so. Although the cause from when I was a young child was probably mis-care, I never had luck with my Budgie lasting a very long time. But I also wondered if it was WHERE I got them from that affected their lifespan. So ultimately my question is: where should I purchase my parakeet? Is a "PetCo" or a "PetSuppliesPlus" acceptable? I've checked out the two near my house recently and the birds seem to be adequatly kept, happy and outwardly healthy (bright eyes, hopping about, etc) but I am no expert, and my previous ownership is still in the back of my mind, even though that was well over five or six years ago. So where to get a parakeet?

  • Do Guinea Pigs Smell Up a Room?

I'm trying to convince my mom to let me have a Guinea Pig. One of the conditions is that any pet I get CANNOT stink up the house. Now, the piggy would be staying in my room. So the real question is, do they smell so bad (with once a week cage cleaning) that the smell will leave my room and permeate the house? Please help, ASAP answers are greatly appreciated!!
