Ladies who have been "fixed" or thinking aobut it?

Hi... I'm 27 weeks along, with my 5th, so we are definitely done after this one! We're both going to get 'fixed,' just to be on the safe side; we are THAT done! Here's a good link:

I'm looking into the 2nd or 3rd options... Second choice could be ideal for me, cause I'll already be in the hospital, for the birth. Third choice, well... Wouldn't have to have a scar on my stomach, and only a local is needed.

You may have some people who will tell you it's less invasive for your husband to have a vasectomy, but I see no problem with going into it with a practical point of view, such as, what if you two split? (No offense intended.) Or, something were happen to him? You'd still be protected against pregnancy, if you take responsiblity for yourself... If he gets a vasectomy, as well, then you have double protection.

It is less invasive for your "man" to have a vasectomy than for you to have your tubes tied. Please do not take this the wrong way but I have known too many women who have had their tubes tied after 2 children and either decide 5 years from now they want more children or end up getting divorced and remarried then decide they want children. Please think about this long and hard. Is there a way to use condoms or some other form until you know for sure...something that is not permenant.

I had a tubal at the same time I had an ablation for bleeding issues. (The doctor would not do the ablation without the tubal.)

I had no issues with it -- minor surgery, one night in the hospital a bit of discomfort for a few days, and then back to my usual routine.

You DO have to be sure that you are done having kids. If there's ANY doubt in your mind, then wait to have it done and find another method. (Condoms+spermicide are about as effective as hormonal birth control. An IUD would be another option.)

I am having my third and final baby in April also. I would make sure that you are okay with just having two because you can't reverse it. I would ask yourself if I were to get divorced one day would I want to have more kids if I find mr right? am I okay with two etc.. I would wait six months after your baby is born and if for sure you think you still only want two kids then go ahead and get it done

There is one procedure I would highly recommend which is called "Essure" and is considered a permanent birth control. Instead of having surgery, two inserts are gently placed without need of anesthesia- and is very non-invasive. This can be done in a few minutes and is painless and safe.

As far as I am concerned, it was the BEST decision I ever made. I only wish that I didn't have periods anymore, but that would take a hysterectomy and I would have to take hormones. Sex became better because I never had to think about it though. As long as you are sure, DO IT! I did and never looked back!

Why? She sings songs for little little ones and merits somewhat toddler call. BQ: I even have a historic previous project, so almost all of my day would be taken up via that, yet i'm heading to guitar center in somewhat.

Im just gunna say Im pregnant with my first so im not getting "fixed" but I do have to say that I grew up with just one sibling and it was aweful! we fought ALL the time. there was no one else for us to play with so I always wanted to follow her because she was my older sister and she hated it. we were only 2.5 years apart too. so Im just warning you youre going to have a LOT of fighting on your hands! but good luck :)) I know some people dont want even more than one!

Biggest regret I've ever had was getting my tubal!

My periods were screwed up for the first 2 years, its PERMANENT - so make VERY sure this is what you want!
