4yr old son says he's afraid of the dark....?
Hey guys,
My son just recently turned 4. We moved into a new house back in September and ever since then he has wanted to sleep in our bed. For awhile i was ok with that since it was a new house and everything but now it's gone on long enough. He claims that he's afraid of the dark so we put 2 night lights in his room and while he's fallign asleep we let him watch a movie. we also put up a gate so that he can't get out and has to stay in there. for the last two weeks this was working fine. but then last night he stood at the gate and cried for us saying he was scared agian. instead of comforting him and putting him back to bed my partner just brought him in bed. i already had a talk with him about how we need to be consistant with our son. what are a few tips and tricks that have worked for you?
Thanks
3 AnswersToddler & Preschooler7 years ago4yr old son having trouble, attitude changes, what to do?
Hey peeps!
My partner and i are looking for a way that one or both of us can spend more time at home with our kids. Up until now we have both been putting in 42-48/week so that we could get a house, provide for the kdis and still have leftover for some wants. Well we've gotten to that point and now our 4-yr old son has been having some issues. (He isn't in anykind of 4K program yet because he won't be able to start school until he's 5 based on when his bday is.) as of right now he and our 19 mo daughter have been going to an in-home sitter. Everything was great until recently. The last few months our son has become extra sassy, he doesn't listen, has been very agressive and won't kiss or hug us goodbye. in fact he seems to get angry when we leave.
I'm worried that he hasn't been getting enought attention since we work so much. he also doesn't want to go to my mom's house at all anymore because he's afraid we'll leve him there. (she is out back up sitter) this makes me incredably sad and has made my time at work suffer as well. I've never been all that pleased with my job to begin with, but this makes it that much harder. our thought is to start our own in-home daycare. i can be at home with the kids and still have a source of income. i'm just wondering who out there has their own or uses one. what do you like about using/having your own? what type of rates do you have? have it been benificial for you?
also if you have any other advice on what we can do to help our son that would be great!
Thanks so much!!

2 AnswersSmall Business7 years agowages and hours for part-time job?
My bf and I are having a hard time affording daycare for our kids even though we both work 40+ hours a week. a thought we had to try and help with this would be to have me work a decent paying part-time job in the morning (because he works nights) so that we wouldn't need a sitter. Any ideas on what types of jobs would allow me to only work mornings and very few weekends while paying somewhat decent?
1 AnswerOther - Pregnancy & Parenting8 years agoSonogram Tech or other good jobs for mommys?
Has anyone out here gone to or is going to school for this profession. I'm looking for something that is decent in the money category but more conducive to family life cause i have two young kids. i'm also looking for something fairly quick and cheep as far as education goes. and input or other suggestions would be GREAT! Thanks.
1 AnswerNewborn & Baby9 years agoGetting induced on Wed April 4th...?
So my doctor and I decided to induce labor on the 4th. my due date isn't actually until the 7th but with Easter being that weekend we decided 3 days early wouldn't be terrible. also i have been having off and on again contractions since about 34 weeks. (a LOT of stress!) this is my second pregnancy. with my son (who is now 2 1/2) i went naturally the day after my due date. what i though it kind of fun is that my son was born 11/04/09 and now my daughter (hopefully!) will be born 04/04/12 AND both on Wednesdays the same as their father. :-) i'm just wondering if there's anyone else out there who was/will be induced and if you can give me a run down of your experience.
Thanks!!
1 AnswerPregnancy9 years agoMommy's with multiple births, contractions?
I am 33 weeks (today) with my 2nd. i recently went through a huge stress (on monday actually) and have been having incredibly strong braxton hicks ever since. but what worries me that that on tues, last night and this morning i also had what felt like regular contractions. they weren't every intense and only last about 30sec-1min and only for about 10min and have gone away each day. it worries me though cause i didn't have any early labor signs with my first. have any of you noticed this with your 2nd's or 3rd's and beyond?

did you start getting braxton hicks really early and did they seem more frequent and intense with your second pregnancy? it seems that way to me!

11 AnswersBaby Names10 years agoways to help wake up/stay awake?
I know that caffeine should be used in limited quantities while pregnant. so what other home remedies and or exercises and what not can i do to help both wake myself up and stay awake???? I'm 12 weeks in with my 2nd and am just exhausted almost everyday!!!!! I'm working 40hrs, have an almost 2yr old at home and want to at least try to keep the house looking decent. HELP!!! lol.
3 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoGetting bf to understand hormonal inbalence.?
ok! so this is going to be our second child. When we were pregnant with our first (who is now almost 2) we didn't starting living together until i was aobut 5 months along. so my bf didn't really know what the first trimester and first half of the 2nd was really like for me (terrible morning sickness, very cranky, exhausted all the time etc). HOWEVER, he has been a TOTAL prick to me lately becuase i have been moody and have a serious lack of motivation. I tried explaining what i'm going through and how i've been feeling but he just writes it off.
on top of it all i had a NASTY flu bug for 6 days of last week so i was extra tired and admitingly did not really do a thing outside of working my 40hrs, taking care of our son and myself. dishes didn't get done for a few days, toys laying around when he got home from work etc. and i know that from his military background he likes things to be spick and span. but that's just not logical with a 2 year old running around and your pregnant gf being the one expected to get everything done!!!! at least not in my eyes.
anyway, how do i get through to him and help him understand what i'm going through?????? we're fighting constantly and he made a comment yesterday that he's "irritated" with me and that if i "can't learning to be cleanly when he buys a house i won't be living there"
2 AnswersTrying to Conceive10 years agoPregnancy systems on 2nd?
Ok ladies! I have a 2yr old boy at home and the last 4 days or so i have been feeling pretty sick. I didn't get morning sicknes with my son but it wasn't until about 10+ weeks in. I've taken 2 home pregnancy tests over the last 3 weeks but they both came back negative. I have to eat every so many hours or i get sick. i did miss my period and have been having some of the same symptoms.
my question is, can you start gettting sick before registering a poisitive on a HPT???? i'm going to the dr at 2:30 to have them test me.
