British Armed Forces?

Do the British Armed forces swear an oath of allegiance to the Sovereign or simply to the government (i.e. Parliament)

    Queen and country it's the only way, sod the Parliament they only pay us and the top man changes every 4 or 5 years if they don't get a second term of office

    The Sovereign, same as in Canada, or anywhere else with a monarchy.

    Legally, the Queen IS the country - you can see this in the coat of arms. The Queen's, and the country's are identical.

    They are, after all, Her Majesty's armed forces

    think about it. if somebody swore an oath to the government they'd have to redo it after every election. hardly practical.
