To my knowledge, intentionally altering your mental state is no more a sin than sleeping.
That being said, you're responsible for anything you do and any lies you tell as a result.

If you have believed and trusted that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins then taking drugs is defiling the body. If you have rejected Him and what the He did for you then every thing you do is a sin against God. The only reason why you will die one day is because you are a sinner the only difference is the fact that if you are a believer then your sins are taken care of. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

If you have done drugs suspecting it might be a sin, you have sinned. And that is a great answer if you think about it.
