What did you think of Christian Ponder? Is there any hope for the Vikings in the future?

I didn't get to watch the game, but the momentum went back and forth all game.
I lived in Mn, for 10 years, so I have a soft spot for the Vikings.
My first NFL game, was them beating the Bears, 30-3, when they still played outdoors, in the '60's.
God, they deserve a new stadium, I hate that balloon the call a stadium.

He's a breath of fresh air after McChunky. Ponder played well, it was only his first start. He tossed some dangerous throws, but overall he was poised, and he LEADS the offense. If the Vikings & Ponder build on this performance the ship will be righted in the not too distant future.
I want to add some rebuttal: Ponder is very athletic, he is very capable of scrambling for yardage & avoiding the rush, many people just haven't seen enough of him yet to know this. ...The Vikings don't have a General Manager.

Overall, an impressive debut from the rookie out of Florida State. He made some bad choices and some bad throws and he also isn't as athletic as the other young QBs in the league. A couple of times in today's game he tucked the ball in and tried to run with it -- only to find out that that doesn't work in the NFL. He just got tackled by the nose tackle.
But he can grow and learn to fix the mistakes he made today. He impressed me with his poise and presence, his intellect and his arm.
So, yes there is definitely a lot of hope for the Vikings with Ponder at the helm -- but probably not this season.

I thought he did all right. The Vikings have problems and part of it is the head coach.buliding around Ponder is not a bad idea. They have had problems in their secondary for the last couple of years and I have to wonder what the GM has been doing about this. They lost Rice over the offseason and really I don't see someone who replaced his talent.

hahaha. accepted viqueens fan. constantly blaming it on the refs. vikings have been given fortunate with countless calls themselves, to boot to the multiple dropped interceptions from the packers D. packers rock, viqueens nonetheless suck!

I thought he did pretty well, besides the 2 interceptions. I'm a packers fan and he had me nervous almost the whole game.

I was impressed, the fact that he didn't blow the gift the Packers gave him on the first play, show something.
