Strawberry allergy to conventional fruit only?

A few weeks ago I bought some strawberries at the grocery store. I had an allergic reaction in my mouth and tongue. The same thing happened when I made a pbj for my daughter and took a bite. So, I made an appointment with my allergist (I suffer asthma and have urticaria). However, curiosity hit me when I pulled some strawberries out of the freezer that came from a local farm this past summer to give to my husband and daughter. I ate some and didn't even have a mild reaction at all. Does anyone have any suggestions to tell my allergist? Does anyone have any experience as to what this might be? I heard strawberry allergies are common but now I'm confused! Thanks.

His answer is not necessarily correct for you. I'm glad he's not a nurse anywhere near me!!! While most people have similar reactions, to be sure, your experience is interesting. Tell your doctor when you see him that you had no reaction to locally grown/bought strawberries. It may just be the chemicals they are sprayed with that is getting to you.

i think of it may be effective to initiate fruit now in case you % to. i visit initiate by employing infant on solids in each week or 2 (merely % her to bypass her 6 month mark) and that i visit pass the full infant rice cereal undertaking. I particularly have given it extremely some theory and study and that i visit initiate with Avocado! I see no could desire to introduce her to solids by employing beginning with fantastically processed white rice. by employing six months you gives you your infant many and extremely almost all meals (merely stay far flung from the fantastically allergenic ones for a on an identical time as), so in case you % to furnish fruit decide for it! even nevertheless i could wait some days in between each new nutrients merely in case there is an allergic reaction. it particularly is plenty extra easy to be sure the hypersensitivity in case you're in common terms coping with one new nutrients! So have exciting and initiate off giving your infant some exciting new tastes!

You were NOT allergic to strawberries to begin with. If you were allergic to strawberries to start with you would have had hives/urticaria, wheeziness, elevated heart rate and difficulty breathing. When something is eaten the allergy will affect the whole body.
