A lot of air movement will make 72 degrees feel cold. If the air is too dry, 72 will feel cooler as your sweat evaporates off you more readily and carries your heat away more easily.

Buy a cheap thermometer and check whether your thermostat's setting is accurate.

Don't feel annoyed at wearing extra layers to stay warm. $150 buys a lot of sweaters and heavy socks that will keep you warm all winter, but it only pays one month's utility bill.

My bill can blow past $300 if the temperature gets too low and I haven't laid in plenty of firewood. The heat pump is nigh unto useless below 40 degrees outside and the only alternative after that is emergency heat - a gigantic space heater inside the heat pump. Kiss your dollars goodbye.

You may be catching a cold or the thermostat thermometer is not accurate. Buy a thermometer and check it out.

because 72 is cold. 76- is not cold
