Which processor would be better for a home theater PC?

I am building a home theater PC out of some spare parts. I have a good used ASUS motherboard and two processors. One is a dual core AMD 64 X2 4400+ (2.4GHz) and the other is a triple core AMD Phenom X3 8350e (1.9GHz). Either of these will work in my mobo, but which one do you think would be a better choice? I have all of my DVDs and BluRays ripped and encoded to mp4s and mkv files. Many of them are 720p or 1080p. I have a good video card as well which is capable of handling HD content, so my choice is down to which processor. I am not planning on gaming or anything, this is strictly used for playing movies thru Media Center on my HD tv.

Either processor is fine. I'd spend more time thinking about the video card and getting the most ram.

dual core would be best IMHO, I have a single core 2.7GHz that chokes on hd(sometimes smooth but mostly spikey), 2.4 dual would be plenty. Granted WMP refuses to use graphics card to play hd for me.
