A rash on a child, followed by pain and inability to walk certainly sounds like a doctor or hospital visit is needed! And sooner rather than later.

What part of not being able to walk sounds normal and OK? Go get him checked out - even if it turns out to be nothing, no harm done by taking him. Better safe than sorry.

take him to the doctor. It's hard to figure out what's wrong with him by a few words description.

A doctor will be able to more fully assess your son. the rash may have been a symptom of a more serious problem.
