What cheese should I eat while trying to diet?
I really like cheese, but was wondering what would be a good choice that wouldn't break the bank, and is reasonably easy to find.
I'm lookin for sliced/deli cheeses mostly.
Actually, I think I can "really like cheese" and want a "sliced/deli cheese". Meunster happens to be one of my favorites, but I'm not going to go out and buy a block of it. And liking cheese has nothing to do with where it comes from. I could have said that I was looking for a fine snack cheese that can be puchased at a store that might or might not be near me, but I didn't. I'm looking for a cheese that I can put in my sandwiches, that doesn't taste like plastic.

If you really like cheese, don’t go for the unsatisfying low fat bland kind or cottage cheese which is more like milk curd.
Go for quality over quantity.
If you’re worried about calorie content, just know that a serving or real cheese (about 110 calories) is one inch cube (one ounce, 28g).
The Swiss have 450 different kinds of cheese, the French 400 kinds, so your choice is pretty wide. The Dutch have good Gouda and Edam.
Your favorite cheese is a personal taste like your favorite perfume.
If you live in the US, avoid what they call “Swiss” or “American” cheeses. I’m not even sure that there is cheese in those.
I like Fol Epi (semisoft cheese imported from France) which is light, fruity and nutty and I can find it sometimes at Publix in the US. Then you get the right crackers or make homemade baguette and you’re in Heaven.
You cannot “really like cheese” and look for “sliced/deli cheeses”, as those would be contradictory ideas. Get real cheese and a cheese slicer.

Preferably no hard cheeses, but if you must, mozzarella, or any organic cheese is best.
Fat Free cottage cheese/ cream cheese is perfect if you feel like a cheesy snack. :) Just stay away from cheddar! It's fat-full!

Cottage cheese, very low calorie and yummy with rice crackers or jacket potato.

cottage cheese is great and any cheese in moderation is alright with a balanced diet.
