I think what these cases show is that people love someone to hate.
The prosecutors used their imagination to invent a case against these girls. That makes for an interesting story to read in your tabloid.
A jury hears all the details and both sides of the story and they think it over. Eventually it becomes apparent that the prosecutor was doing a con job, and they didn't buy it.

I have to disagree with your other commentors. I think if you do a RANDOM survey of the public, (not just yuppies and liberals), you will find that the majority DO think both of this women were guilty and got away with murder. If you don't believe me just check the comments sections of almost any Yahoo news story on either woman. Most of the other news media outlets don't even allow comments on these two women. The news media in general also seems more than willing to assist any halfway attractive white female get aquitted of a news worthy felony.

They are absolutely birds of a feather. The only people who think they aren't guilty are people who also indulge in drugs for babysitters, and extreme sex chokers, etc. When people indulge in the same behavior, they LIKE to think other people didn't "intend" for death to happen, either. They would want a free pass if their behavior goes astray.

Amanda has a chance of being perceived as innocent after her book is published and she goes on the talk show circuit.

That's not true. Knox was innocent in the public opinion court, innocent of murder anyway if that's what we're talking about here.
