Word for 'uncomfortableness'?

Is 'Uncomfortableness' a word? I looked it up and it says it is, but it just sounds wrong to me. This is the context I'm trying to use it in:

"Roy refrains from using overly emotive language to describe the darkness, desperation and 'uncomfortableness' of the novel, ...."

Update:

Wow, thanks first answer. I'm an idiot LOL... facepalming majorly.

I'm not sure if it is a word, but even if it is, I wouldn't suggest using it. I'd rather use a smaller, simpler word, such as uneasy or nervous.
