why did everything in my computers memory just disapear?

I pretty much keep my entire life on my computer and I just had about a hundred things pop up at once that i couldn't stop and the task manager wouldn't come up so i just restarted my computer, and when it came back up the screen was black, there were only 2 icons on my desktop, and I cannot find any of my pictures, music etc. and a system restore thing popped up and is saying i have errors that were "failed to fix" what do I do????

    You filing system was damaged. You can check the filing system for errors with the appropriate scanner. If you are running Windows, just run scandisk on it. After scandisk is done running. Check the directory "C:\USERS\YOUR_ACCOUNT\" for your files. If they aren't there, you could try running file recovery software on the hard disk. If your hard disk is S.M.A.R.T enabled. Check for errors.
