Do you take a 1 loss Alabama in a rematch over Boise State?

Question

Lets start with the assumption for this what if, that Stanford and Oklahoma State both lose a game. Alabama and Boise State are not getting in over an undefeated BCS Conference Champ.

Key wins:
Alabama - Arkansas, Auburn, Penn State 
Boise State - Georgia, TCU, Air Force (Triple Option wild card team)

Key losses:
Alabama - Lost to LSU at home while not scoring a touchdown, the only team LSU held to less points was a FCS team BUT to be fair LSU was equally inadequate on offense against the Tide. Georgia Southern, though technically not a loss and most likely a massive blowout, any team that chooses to schedule a FCS team should have that game counted as a loss. To be clear if they had a game cancellation or if they didn't have every team begging to play them this would be excusable.

Boise State - Boise didn't schedule any cream puffs but they do have a weaker conference schedule than most BCS conferences outside MAYBE the Big East. If the BCS lovers are right and the regular season is a playoff, than you need to lose to be eliminated (No such thing as a win every game and you lose playoff). So if we had to assign Boise State a loss it would be, not being invited to join a BCS conference earlier LOL

Something you probably didn't know about each team:
Alabama - Can still win the SEC West if Arkansas defeats LSU. It would come down to the team with the highest BCS ranking to get in since they would be in a 3 way tie. LSU losing at home on the last weekend would probably bump Alabama past them.

Boise State - According to the Sagarin rating system (the most commonly used SOS index) Boise State actually had a tougher SOS than Alabama or Stanford going into last weekend. Ironically the reason Alabama didn't plummet in the computer rankings after the loss was because the game against LSU bumped their SOS up so much that it offset the loss (Going 8-1 against a top 25 schedule is about equal to going 8-0 against a schedule that barely broke the top 40).

Questions to ask yourself:
Do you really put a team that already lost to the LSU at home back into a rematch at LSU (BCS Title Game is in Louisiana)?
Do you really put a non AQ in the finals!?!?!
Is winning your conference a requirement in the supposedly reformed BCS? (Much has been made of the debate on whether you should have to win your conference, let alone division to get a shot at the National Championships).

I've asked myself this a hundred times already. The way the BCS is formulated the entire season is a "playoff". If you lose, you're out. However, it is also supposed to pit the two best teams against each other in the NC game. Saturday night the two best teams in the country met. So, logic says they shouldn't meet again because of the structure of the BCS yet logic says they should meet because of the structure of the BCS. Also, is it fair to make LSU beat Bama twice to win the title and Bama would just have to beat LSU once for the same title? Wow what a situation we may have! 

But to answer...I say YES play again. (not biased because of my name) In the NFL two great teams can meet in the regular season and face each other again in the Super Bowl. In MLB the two best teams in each division meet multiple times during the year, yet have to win when it counts regardless of the season head to head records. In virtually every other sport the two best teams facing off twice is ok. So why is it not in college football? 

However I don't think this will happen. Too many things have to happen. Besides, even with a Stanford loss when/if Oklahoma beats Oklahoma St they will leap frog Alabama and Boise in the polls. 

PS:  Unlike a lot of people I think Saturday night's game was a classic. College football fans have become so spoiled in the spread offense era with big points and teams having an "I don't have to defend you because I'm going to out-score you" attitude. Saturday night was a REAL football game

Yes. I definitely would. Alabama is a better team, hands down, than Boise State. Boise plays a powder puff schedule in a powder puff conference. They don't deserve to be in the top 10.

It's mute point now. Boise lost to TCU. So much for their BCS title hopes....

No, but I would take a one loss Oklahoma over an undefeated Boise State.  
I know Oklahoma loss to an unranked Texas Tech, but if they finish with one loss, that means that they beat #2 Oklahoma State.

They only way I see Boise State having a shot at the Championship Game is if everything you say happens, plus Georgia wins out including beating LSU in the SEC Championship Game.

In all honesty I would not mind seeing Boise play in the National Championship. I believe that Alabama was placed ahead of Standford and Boise to keep any hopes of Boise playing for the National Championship just that; a hope. Also why should LSU have to beat Alabama TWICE to win the championship and Alabama only has to beat us ONCE after losing to us on their home field. Boise has to hope that OSU and Stanford losses, Bama losses another game, and that Oklahoma losses in the Big 12 Championship Game. Other than that I don't see Boise St. playing in the National Championship Game.

Well the answer is simple. If those scenarios play out. Oklahoma, Arkansas, Bama, and Stanford will all be ranked ahead of them. It would be most likely Bama vs Stanford in the Championship game. Boise cannot EVER play for the title in their current conference. Boise St on their schedule play the statistically 2 worst teams in the College Football. They should never be allowed to play in the title game.

I think Boise deserves a shot at the title.
I don't know if anybody remembers, but the head coach of Boise said they will play any team, any time, any where and he guarantees they will win.
If Alabama is so confident that they'll destroy Boise then why don't they take the offer?
No team is willing to take that offer because they know Boise will win and ruin their championship hopes.
All of these coaches in big time divisions say Boise can't play in their conference so why are they so scared to take that game?
Boise has beaten really good teams in the past few years and I think if Boise and LSU go undefeated then they should play each other in the National Championship.

You answer your own question in your 'key wins' section:  Georgia, TCU, and Air Force are Boise's 'key wins' in your opinion - look at the records and ranking of those teams (now and at the end of the season), and those are the BEST teams that they play.... Its about time Boise plays for the NC so maybe the give them a break and put them in plus I don't want to see another snoozer LSU vs Bama, and OU if (and that's a if) they beat OSU they might just jump over Bama.

 So if every game is a playoff game under the BCS system we should be down to the final four and Alabama should not have a game next week then.
