Nail polish remover is made from acetone. Get some from your local hardware store. Try it first on a non visible spot to insure it won't ham the carpet. Use in a well ventilated room, the fumes are strong.
Dampen a piece of rag large enough to cover the spot and place on the spot. Press it into the nail polish without rubbing and let it sit for a few minutes. Lift the rag off and see how much came up. Adjust the time and amount as needed. Try not to rub too much.
I don't know about alcohol and white wine. Red wine will cause another problem.
Good luck. :-) The Lake was great.

1. Use a spoon to scrape up any nail polish.
2. Using only a white towel, blot, never rub the stain with a vinegar and water mixture.
3. Repeat over and over until the stain is removed.
4. If you want to use a stain product, be careful. Remember to use a white towel or white paper towel; otherwise the dye in the towel may bleed into your carpet.
5. If this does not work, using a very very sharp scissors, you can cut the tips of the carpet fiber, but be careful to not cut to much off otherwise you may have a divot in your carpet.
Good Luck

OK, this is really bad but i can solve it, first get a sponge and rub nail polish remover on it, then wash it like poor water on that spot, later while it's wet get a fork or sandpaper and slowly rub it so the dried marks will go away, then just keep on adding soap and Water until it's gone because it should be easier after that leave it to dry.
If you don't want to go through all that trouble just dry clean it.

I had an ink-stain in my school shorts once and I just sprayed lots of hairspray onto it. Worked insanely well. May work for nail polish?

try rubbing alcohol. get a wash cloth soak it in rubbing alcohol and dab at the nail polish. DAB don't rub or it will get worse. If it doesn't work, try a combination of vinegar and water. Hope this helps :D

1) Try to soak up as much as you can with a paper tower and water
2) Buy some non-acetone or acetone nail polish remove
3)Hope and pray it will come out before anyone notices. ;)
