what do you feel besides having chest discomfort?
Do you lie down on bed after meals? because when you do, it might be a heart burn.
But if not, observe yourself for these following signs and symptoms:
> difficulty breathing and you wake up due to this
> swelling on your legs or feet
> pounding heartbeat - like your heart's going to explode
> measure the time your chest discomfort happens: if it happens for at least 15 mins or more
> pain is radiating on your left arm and jaw
if 3 or more of this symptoms occur consult your health care provider - it might be possible that you're having a heart attack.

The toilet is a favored spot for heart attacks but the reason why you notice problems with your heart more when your in bed is because of the 60 years of going to sleep at night. Everything is quiet I close my eyes and there's this thing banging away in my chest.Pillows help raise the head and feet which can bring relief but once it gets to 120 I don't sleep .
A heart attack is pain in the chest caused by a stopping of blood supply to the heart. The pain is caused by muscle death. Exertion can help mask the process and I have met a man who was driving and feeling a little uncomfortable who's heart showed the signs of muscle death and he got a stent. So it seems every beat of your heart could be its last. It wont wait for you to lie in bed and get comfortable it can get you in the car on the stairs or on the toilet. Its just a matter of time and we will all be joining you.

you don't say whether you have a heart condition. there are many reasons why someone may have pain lying down including indigestion or muscle pain.
From a heart point of view if you experience an angina attack while sleeping in bed its what we call a red flag sign. Its highly abnormal in most cases to have angina at rest and if it continued could almost certainly turn into a heart attack. The advice for patients waking with angina is to get an ambulance immediately

Heart attacks can happen any time of day or night. They have no preference as when to strike. You need to see a doctor as soon as possible. Your body is telling you something, so listen to it & go see your doctor. Don't ever try to diagnose your symptoms yourself. You could be "dead wrong." I've seen it happen to many of my former neighbors/co workers.
