I'm unemployed, can anyone give a reason why I would want to get a job?

Money gives me reverse motivation - I don't want money to exist. I have not had a full-time job, only two weeks of work experience, twice. Twenty-seven. How could I possibly get motivation to work, when money puts me off?

Update:

I don't want money to exist. If I think about changing the world it gives motivation. But if I think about changing the world for money - that puts me off!

Update 2:

I'm twenty-seven Rob - I think I've had enough time, my benefits got cut this week, but it didn't even bother me

Update 3:

I live in England, I get enough money for food. When I think of going to find employment, that makes me feel like, all resources are limited, and I don't believe I could find any employment at a Job centre which would make me happier than I am now, even though I'm depressed.

I love sport and exercise, my self-esteem is low though, because whenever I meet someone new, it's like they disrespect me, or avoid me, because I have no career - that's what I feel like anyway - it's like I've been putting so much concentration into how my image affects people, and it feels hard to establish any image for myself.

Update 4:

Samantha's answer is the best so far.

Update 5:

Spells? I'm not into spells though

Update 6:

Actually, maybe I'm not that into sport, but I like exercise

Update 7:

Thanks everyone from Samantha to Susan - I am starting to have an idea it would be a good idea - even though I don't want to do it for the money, but just to have more to think about. I started using Yahoo Answers nearly a week ago, and I've loved trying to help people, and when I'm trying to work out other's problems, that helps me to realise how to work out my own too - I'll appreciate more answers, please!

I am having the idea to go out tomorrow to the City - maybe tell people I am ready to work. But this will reduce my benefits, and I am supposed to accommodate my girlfriend's brother, and my girlfriend, they are both looking for jobs. So maybe I should wait until they have jobs first, otherwise we won't have enough money for food?

It should be a job that doesn't feel like a job. Pick something that you have always been good at and have loved to do already, then find a way to get paid to do it. That's the best method.

Money is just a simple way to trade goods and services. Work hard, keep as much money as you need to live, save some for a rainy day, then use the rest to help others. If you don't trust a charity, find someone who needs it more than you. An old person, a sick person, whatever works for you.

Live in a cardboard box over a heating vent from December 1, 2011 to February 28, 2012, in Chicago, Illinois.

See if you don't get some motivation to rent an apartment.

Because if you stay home all the time, it gets BORING to be online all the time and watch daytime TV shows. If, for some reason you don't like money, then volunteer to do something and get out of the house. And by the way, since you're alive, you're GETTING money from somewhere (probably from the government), so apparently you DO like things money can buy, like food and shelter.

i really don't know how you manage to survive.. but if you really have no motivation for money, then how about you do volunteer work? If you go to a place that you enjoy, then you will feel good if it is something to do with changing the world! And there's no money to put you off!

Even if you want to revert back to the barter system, you still will need to do some kind of work to acquire or produce a commodity for trade.

Good luck getting an employer to pay you gold instead of cash.

Back rubs will only go so far.

Without money, how do you buy food and clothes, pay for your accommodation, or even pay to use the computer or phone with which you have posted this?

You need to stop kidding yourself. Its not some strange affliction to money. You just don't want to work. If you have enough self respect to take money that you haven't earned, you would have even more respect if you actually earned it. Give it a try. You might enjoy it.

It seems not having a job has better benefits now days. You can go on welfare and everyone else will pay for your care. Having a job means you have to pay for your expenses no excuses.

If money puts you off then I really don't know what to suggest. Find something you enjoy and stop claiming benefits or whatever.
