Been offered full time job, should I leav school and take it? Age 16?

just had group silection and 2nd interview for ASDA in the UK. Had origionally just applied for part time as still at school but0want to work in retail management as a career anyway and they have offered me full time 38 hours with the chance to go onto management trainee as soon as I turn 18.

Was planning on doing something like this i.e getting a retail job and going for management when I left school anyway so its tempting. I got good exam marks and am not enjoying what im doing now as its just as R say killing time til my 18th. Im finding it harder and harder to stay motivated, im cumfort eating with the obviouse side effects and this just seams rite. My family and BF are cool with it, but whats everyone else think?

Yes do it. But get a firm commitment from them on the management training. You can always get your equivalency part time or at a later date.

16 and you're off and running! wow!

If you are sure that you want a job in retail management then do it. Sometimes staying on a school doesn't help you that much and practical experience might be better. But you must be prepared to work hard at your job so that you make it onto the management scheme. Remember as well that there are more opportunities these days for you to go back to studying later in life if you want to.

College and University are over-rated, often the skills are not transferable to the workplace.

take the job and push for the management training, it will set you in a good position for the next few years, which will hard on all of us

if that is the sort of job that you want to do for the rest of your life as a career then go for it! dont push yourself to go to college if that isnt what you want to do and you are finding it too stressful. you have a great opportunity, and i think you should take it :) ♥ x

See if you can change the times to balance a bit of both.
