I have a cold and a horrible cough. I am spitting up greenish in the morning. No fever. I have a headache.?

I have company coming this weekend for a week and am leaving on a cruise after Thanksgiving. If I don't see a doctor, will this go away? I always hear don't go to the doctor for viral colds.

    Ok.

Here are the symptoms of a cold :

Runny nose, coughing (without greenish-yellowish mucus), blocked sinus, sore throat.

Here are the symptoms of a flu (influenza) :

Cough (usually yellowish mucus), headache, muscle pain and weakness, high fever.

Here are the symptoms of bronchitis :

Cough with yellowish or greenish mucus. Chestpain from coughing. Sounds when breathing.

Pneumonia might be the next step for untreated bronchitis.

Both bronchitis and pneumonia needs ANTIBIOTICS or else it won't go away and plus, it's dangerous.

The same is happening to me right now. Id say you should take a LOT of cough drops, and drink chocolatemilk for the cough. Also, keep warm. Good luck!
