Overprotective Parents. What should I do?
I'm seventeen. My parents are so overprotective I have no freedoms. They still read my texts and I have to tell them exactly where I am going and they call to check in on me constantly. I just want my freedom. I'm not a bad kid. Never partied or done drugs. I've had sex but I mean come on, its not illegal. What the hell is there problem. What should I do? I need them off my case.
I am in college already. I graduated early.

You don't know it yet but within 5 years you'll realize that you're parents really love you and they know best. 17 is a tough age because you are physically an adult but mentally unable to understand the entire world. My parents "learned a lot" from the time I was 15 to 25. Now my dad is my best friend but when I was 17 I hated him for being too overprotective.
When you're out of college with a house and car paid off and no babies you'll appreciate what your parents did for you.
Keep chuggin' along!

A lot of people say that you will appreciate being spied upon once you get older. What a joke, lol. They have no right to read your texts unless you are a trouble maker. Legally they can until you turn 18 though. I would suggest erasing any text that you don't want them to see. What would they do if you just refused to give them your phone. You are months away from 18. Hang in there.

I think you should be glad you have parents who care. It won't last forever. Since you are 17, you only have 1 year to go to college and all of that will be gone. In the grand scheme of things, it won't matter.
Do you live at home and commute? Maybe you need to move out? I'm not sure how they have so much control with you being in college.

My parents were extremely strict as well. My best advice is to wait it out another year until college. Once you're at college, your parents will loose complete control over you. (You might even miss their protectiveness). As for now, try not to let it get the best of you. Try and ignore it. I know not having freedom is tough, but once you're eighteen... you're a legal adult. Good Luck.

Well, technically sex under 18 is not legal, outside of a marriage. Not sure what state you've in, but let's drop that one.
If you feel they're overly protective, ask them what's on their minds. They *might* be upset that you're almost out of the house, at 18 or 21 or what have you, and they're afraid. 'Overly protective' sounds somewhat 'irrational' to me. Talk to them, see what's on their minds. (I wouldn't necessarily tell them about your experiences with sex.)
Good Luck.
