Most common community type fish can go a week without food. If you've run out of food now, they can wait until you can get to the shops and get them food.

Some fish will snack on cucumbers or romaine lettuce.
However, those fish are loaches.
You have to determine what type of fish you have to determine what they can or will eat.
Yes, fish can survive over a week without food. They won't be happy about it, but they'll survive until you get to the store.

Start with ANY greens, fruits and vegetables you can find. An example would include, but not be limited to; carrots, broccoli, yams, oranges, apples, Romaine lettuce, etc.
Put all the above in a blender or food processor.
Slowly add shrimp, crab legs (both with shells), and/or smelt. Do not use any fish that would contain high levels of oils, like herring or mackeral.
Add half cup of hot water, depend on the mixture to make it thick.
Place the mixture in the freezer but be sure to cool down the mixture before that.
After the mixture is frozen you can separate the pieces and place them in freezer bags for use as needed.
:) hope you like it & your fish will enjoy it...

Dead flies and other insects. Fish in the wild eat flies that land on a pond surface so this is a natural food source
