You choose who you add on facebook and can easily ignore/delete requests from others. Chat is a small instant messaging service where you can view which of your friends are online. You also have an email style inbox for private messages. Your wall is your profile or space where your friends, friends of friends, or anyone (depending on how you have set your privacy settings) can post. You can also post to other people's walls.
