psychological ghost explanations ?

earlier my nan experienced a weird phenomenon. she told us of how she turned the tv off and apparantly "dashing through the snow" xmas song started playing. a year ago a member of the family died and years and years ago the ex-member of the family gave my nan a christmas present with a little box and when you opened it "dashing through the snow" would play. my nan said the song earlier was exactly the same as the one in the box even though the box is in the loft and would be too quite to be heard. is there any psychological explanations to this ? maybe some emotional attachment of some sort ? i could tell she meant it because she was crying when she told us the story. x

In hypnosis this is called a positive hallucination. Experiencing something that is not there.

A series of events, environment, body, memory feelings etc have all been consciously and unconsciously thinking maybe about this song and it's meaning. She must have been quite chilled out or stood up too quickly just as her mind was thinking about everything 'it' then produced the hypnotic phenomena.

To cry is to vent out unexpressed feelings or emotions - which have built up as she obviously still misses that person greatly. OR she made up the story as she wanted to talk to someone about her upset feelings. Give her a hug.

Kirlian photographs has been thoroughly debunked. that's not data of ghosts. i choose for to advise Mary Roach's e book 'Spook'. She does a super activity of masking issues like hauntings, mysticism, etc, from a reasonably skeptical and medical perspective.

yes the tv going off could have caused her to relive a memory (having said that i do believe in ghost) due to the "blue" (the tv light is classed a blue light) flashing quickly
