i dont' know much about roman catholic, but i know the difference between born again Christian and all other religions...being born again means you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, you have asked him to save you and the Holy Spirit renews you and gives you new life...true christianity is not a religion, its a relationship...regular christians are people still trying to work their way to heaven, but they don't know GOd on a personal level

A Christian is someone who has received the Holy Spirit (been "born of the Spirit" / "born again") because “Christ” or “Messiah” means “anointed one” and the anointing is the Holy Spirit:-
“ . . . you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” (Romans 8v9)
This began at Pentecost, and continues the same today:
“ . . . they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. . . having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now SEE and HEAR. . . For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to ALL that are afar off, even AS MANY AS the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2v4, 33, 39)
... that means YOU and me.
Anyone without that simply isn't a Christian.
That's all you need to know!

"Born again Christianity" is a movement - not a sect or group of sects. There are Christians in almost every large Christian sect - including in Roman Catholicism - that consider themselves "born again Christians". More details:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Born_again_%28Christi...
"Regular Christian" is not a term with a specific definition. Probably, most Christians believe that the more another Christian is like themselves, the more they are a "regular Christian".
"Roman Catholic" refers to members of the Roman Catholic Church, a particular sect of Christianity (the largest single sect by far).

The new birth or being born again is referenced several times in the Bible, but particularly in John 3:1-21 during the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus, a Jewish ruler. Nicodemus comes to Jesus by night and asks Jesus what he needs to do to be saved. Jesus says he must be spiritually born again. Jesus then goes on to describe His crucifixion and that faith in Him will save you from Hell, win you a place in Heaven and allow you to do good works through God. Most born-again Christians attend evangelical, charismatic and fundamentalist churches. Born-again Christians believe in the authority of Scripture. This means they understand the Bible to be literally true--unless there are clear indications that passages are to be taken figuratively. Membership in a born-again church is by testimony of personal salvation, often via an altar call. Baptism is by immersion. Holiness churches, like the Salvation Army, do not practice either water baptism or communion; but they believe in a second work of grace called being wholly sanctified. Charismatics have taken the speaking in ecstatic, unknown languages to be a second work of grace.
By "regular" Christian, I assume you mean a member of one of the mainline Protestant denominations. These churches have a liturgical format much like Roman Catholicism, including a catechism, responsive readings, recitations of creeds, ministers that wear robes, candles, infant baptism. These churches tend to place the individual's conscience over the authority of Scripture. I.e., a figurative and exceptional view of Scripture, including a belief in theistic evolution and the social gospel, is common.
While Catholics maintain that salvation is by faith plus works, born-again believers maintain that salvation is by faith alone, pointing, for example, to the thief crucified near Christ who was promised Heaven after his repentance (Luke 23:39-44). Catholics maintain that church tradition supersedes the Bible, but born-again believers point to passages like Psalm 119 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which indicate the adequacy of Scripture alone. Catholics maintain that grace is imputed through seven sacraments, but born-again believers deny the existence of any sacramental rituals. Born-again believers maintain that baptism does not confer grace per 1 Peter 3:18-21 and that communion is never the literal body and blood of Christ (considering the fact that Jesus was sitting right there when the first Lord's Supper occurred),

It doesnt matter where you begin ..or what denomination you claim. ...... All men will be "reborn"..partakers of the new covenant of grace that is IN the blood of Christ. It is written "You must go through Jesus to get to God. Which means all men will become baptized by the blood of Christ into the new covenant of grace...only acknowledging God's will and no longer following after their own will that is according to this world. It is known as the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire that John the Baptist mentions.
It is written..God's laws will be put in their minds and written in their hearts".......... no longer written on stone tablets...but literally "engraved" into us. The new covenant which was the purpose of Jesus' sacrifice, makes the old covenant of doing our own works, obsolete. No man can save themselves........we are saved by Jesus Christ. This has already been accomplished!
Being reborn can only happen by the leading of Christ. It's a very narrow path and only Christ knows the way to God. Jesus warns of the wide path that leads to destruction...but luckily for mankind, He has conquered death and destruction. Many may be on the wrong path, but Jesus is there to save them. He will not allow any of us to fail. Remember ..it is written...that we are all part of the body of Christ!
It's becoming a new man (a renewing of the mind).....a new creation unto holiness...becoming Christlike......taking on the mind of Christ.
The old man perishes away but the new man enters into eternal life. Jesus died for all of us...so that our sins could be forgiven. Where there is no sin...there is no death, because sin is death. Jesus has the keys to death and hades.
It is written...All men shall be saved, especially the believer. This is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ!
I apologize...I have never been of any denomination and can not tell you the differences between them...all I can do, is tell you what I have been taught personally by God.
ALL GLORY BE TO GOD!
with love... "D"

Christian means "follower of Christ" and according to the Bible, one can not be a follower of Christ without doing what Christ said to do....Jesus the Christ said "Ye must be born again"...therefore is a person is NOT born again they can not be a Biblical follower of Christ (Christian).
"How are you born again?" you ask....
1. Hear the Word of God
2. Believe the Word of God (have faith that it is true) and act on that faith.
3. Repent of your sins and act by
4. Confessing your sins to God the Father.
5. Be Baptized to join with Jesus of Nazareth in his death and resurrection and have your sins washed away.
4. Live each and everyday Enduring to keep the faith and his teachings unto the end (your death or Jesus Returns with the reward of eternal life.
Any who have not followed the steps above ARE NOT Biblical Christians.

You are asking the difference between Catholic Christians and Protestant Christians being all who have been baptized have been "born again"
Being born again means you have been baptized.
John 3:3,5 - Jesus says, "Truly, truly, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." When Jesus said "water and the Spirit," He was referring to baptism (which requires the use of water, and the work of the Spirit).
Catholicism is true Christianity. Jesus established the Catholic Church in 33AD,not 38,000 denominations, or non denominations as in Protestant Christianity. As for Catholic Christians we believe in the following:
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us men and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary , and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Even tho Catholic and Protestants both believe in and worship the same God , the Protestant churches have a more watered down version of Christ. The Protestant churches only recognize 2 of the 7 Sacraments that Jesus gave to His church.
With the 38,000 denominations of Protestant Christians their beliefs are all different being that all have a different interpretation of the bible.
The Catholic Church compiled and canonized the Holy Bible is the 4th century. It is a Catholic Book

One can call themselves a PURPLE PEOPLE EATER.....but unless one IS actually BORN AGAIN, which means they are NO LONGER spiritually dead and separated from God, they are not ANY kind of Christen at all, as far as God is concerned and as far as what happens to someone when they go out into eternity..........and that's what matters....or should......and not "labels"........
By BORN AGAIN, do you actually mean FUNDAMENTALISTS....and "REGULAR" Christians who are merely RELIGIOUS people who aren't muslims or Jewish......and go to a "Christian" Church, regularly or not........but being "religious" and "going to church" doesn't SAVE anyone -- make them a REAL Christian in God's eyes.....yes, BORN AGAIN........... anymore than living in a garage will make one a car.........
Matthew 7:21 (New King James Version)
I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
BORN AGAIN means those who have actually asked Jesus to come into their hearts and be their Savior..........and BORN AGAIN is the term that JESUS Himself used...... John, chapter 3.........and if one is TRULY trusting in Jesus ALONE for their eternal salvation, it does not MATTER what denomination they belong to...There are TRUE believers in ALL denominations......What's important is that someone puts their trust in Jesus and what He has done on the cross for them.....

Born again is what the SUN of God, aka Jesus, aka the Sun in the sky do every year. After Christmas, aka Winter Solstice, the Sun BY PERSPECTIVE appears to be "BORN AGAIN" as it begins the Spring Season and all the 4 seasons, aka the 4 gospels, aka the 4 Horsemen, until it dies on the Cross of the Zodiac in winter again. It is a cycle.
