little bumps on my thighs...?

For ages now I've had little bumps on my thighs. Not like cellulite or anything but they feel like goosebumps, but they're permanently there and are tiny and sometimes red. I've tried exfoliating and moisturising but I can't get rid of them. My brother has something similar on the tops of his arms. Does anyone know what they are or what would be causing them and how I could get rid of the bumpiness?

Thanks

Unfortunately, this is a hereditary condition and not much can be done about it. You may have a version of keratosis pilaris, which causes small, non-itchy bumps to form on one's arms.

However you can try using a loofah and scrubbing the arms for 20 seconds after a shower each day. If that doesn't help, your doctor may be able to prescribe a mild exfoliant.

It's either eczema or razor bumps.

Google eczema to see if that's your problem or if you have symptoms. You would have to get some prescribed medication to get rid of eczema or maybe they have over the counter stuff but in the mean time, whatever your condition, put some calamine lotion on it.

    Hope this helps!

Its hereditary, I've seen many people with them. And i get them sometimes on my upper arms. Exfoliating helps a lot.

As the others said, it could be those. Or it could even be ingrown hairs. I have them on my thighs and my arms. If you squeeze them, like acne, and something comes out like a hair follicle. Then it's ingrown hair.

But if not, I'd probably go with what the others had said!
