how long do the credit bureaus update record?

How and how long do the credit bureaus update one's credit records? Let say's: a person got 5 points taken off from his credit score now for being checked by several lenders, 10 points taken again in 2 months. Are 5 add up by 10 points, and then the credit score just stay that for a while or the credit score refresh itself at some point? If it stays, for how long? If the credit score refreshes itself, how often does it do it?

Is one's credit score kept lowering down one after another credit check? If so, for how long?

Thanks

When it comes to inquiries the reports update automatically, I have looked at hundreds of reports over the last 11-years in the car business and as soon as a inquiry is made, it shows on your reports.

All inquiries made show for 24-months but only effect your score for 12-months.
