I hate mushrooms, I've never tried lentil burgers, and the black bean burgers I've made in the past weren't so great (I love black beans, but it's just WRONG as a burger).

I do like Dr Praeger's burgers (frozen patties, takes forever to cook, but low sodium, no fillers, all veggies, doesn't even TRY to imitate meat...ew, nasty when burgers do that).

Other than that, I like the potato burger at my local indian restaurant. They don't put any spices in it, though, because it's aimed at kids (yea, it's embarassing being the only adult ordering it, but I'm a WAY better cook than they are).

Of the ones you listed, though, I guess I'll go with black bean burgers, since it's the only one I see myself eating. With salsa, though, not ketchup/catsup.

*EDIT* Does chick peas count as lentils? I've had that, THAT'S a good burger. falafels on a bun =)

I agree with too.muchtv, falafel burgers are the way to go.... except I always do pita bread. Delicious. Of your 3 options, I've only ever tried the black bean burger. I love mushrooms, though, [especially sauteed] so I think that would probably win. Black bean burgers with a distant second, and lentil burgers [unless we're talking falafel] for last place. ^_^

That is a tough choice. I think I have to go with the lentil burger. Black bean comes second, followed by mushroom.

I haven't heard of vegan burgers yet,but if you ask me about vegetarian burgers then I'd say black bean burgers. I just love beans.

Of the 3 you listed, I like black bean burgers the best.

However, my new favorite is the Vegetable Masala Burger from Trader Joe's. Love those Indian spices!

I must be a bad veg*n: I have not tried any of these! Are these available ready-made where you live, or are they recipes that every veg*an who is not me knows how to make?

For my occasional junk food cravings I love Tivall veggie burgers (local grocery store brand), which is textured soy and wheat protein. Oddly they taste more like real meat than many a fastfood franchise 'real' hamburger, which makes you wonder what kind of incredible crap goes into those.

I like the Quorn ones on a bun with salad and mayo. No cheese.

Someone mentioned why call them a burger if there's no meat in them. It's a lot faster that having to type out something like 'disc shaped patty that fits neatly into a bun' every time.
