I hope you mean a gtx 580 not a gtx 480 , the motherboard lga 2011 socket, processor a lga 2011 socket, the cpu cooler is compatible for the lga 2011 motherboard, pc case a great full tower case,, corsair dominator good ram , 16 gb is not a overkill, 1000 psu is not a over kill, final results a great! build rating of a 10***, reminder look what happen when the first generation of the amd bulldozer series came out fell short of the i7 -2600k , and a lot of people thought the performance of the bulldozer series will out perform the intel i series, i would recommend sli gtx 580 or a gtx 590

instead of waiting on the nvidia kepler series but nvidia always improve on their graphic cards by performance
