cannot display web pages on my computer?

Update:

I downloaded some updates - so I am connected to internet, but it won't let internet explorer display on my monitor. diagnostic check says I am connected to the internet.

    un-install the last version of IE. than go to control Panel and re-install IE. and see if that works

    Try downloading Firefox or Google chrome and see if those will run
