Is It fraud to sell a automobile as new when it has been damaged?
If it is who can you report it to? I know it`s new and I know it`s damaged because the body shop that I work at is doing the work.

its not fraud but if the damage is over a certain amount (depends on your state law) it must be disclosed, new really means only never titled before, morally damage to a new car should be disclosed but the letter of the law is different

I believe it's fraud. You won't buy something new from walmart and keep it if it was damaged would you? New is new, preowned is preowned, used is used. If it was NEW, then who sold you the car should of told you anything and everything wrong about it. It could never hurt to file a complaint, if you think you have a case.

A new vehicle is a vehicle that has not been titled. It can have 10,000 miles on it or have been damaged, but under the law it is still considered new and can be sold as new.
