Is it weird that you can get your driver's license without a road test in my state?

This means you can pass your computerized exam and get a DL without ever having been behind the steering wheel. I literally have never driven before, but I have a DL.

Updated 14 hours ago:

Mississippi. Last year, 2020, they changed the requirements so that teens don’t have to take the road test. You can get your DL as soon as you pass the written exam.

    a) That's only temporary. It won't last once Covid restrictions are lifted.

    b) It's not true for minors. A parent or legal guardian has to submit an affidavit certifying 50 hours of supervised behind-the-wheel driving time.

    c) So, if you are under 18, you're LYING.

I get that states were unsure how to address road tests mixed with COVID, but that's unconscionable.

Please, please don't drive until someone actually teaches you how to safely move a machine that weighs a couple tons and can go at high speeds.

And what state is that?  Because that means your state has some illegal activity going on there.
