What's the worst item your dog has ever destroyed?
I always say 'this is the last dog - I'm getting too old to take another pup' but here we go again. Large 9th month old pup just eaten one beloved shoe -yes I know I should have had eyes at the back of my head and having raised two sons I thought I did but there you go. Still looking at my lovely intact left shoe.

This is actually about my sister's dog - I'm very lucky mine never chews anything more than a random pen or pencil here and there. Anyway, my sister had left her car keys lying on her bed. She had one of those weird kinds of keys that is a large chunk of rubber and wiring than you plug into the center console (she had a Saab), kinda hard to explain. Well, her dog, a small chihuahua / who-knows-what-else mix, decided it would make a fantastic toy and basically ATE IT. She had to pay $1,200 - $1,500 just for a new key because she didn't have a spare! Then he went and chewed the electrical cable clean off a $2,000 massage chair we had all bought for our Dad. Not to mention all the various pillows, clothes, shoes, toys, couch upholstery and even the wooden windowsills! Evil little dog!

Hmm, oh gosh. The memories. So for my dogs sake, they're mature now but: brand new wrap around leather couch, replacement couch - two matching sofas with electric recline. Found the backside chewn and tore off just like the leather sofa. Carpet. Yes, lots of carpet. Dry wall. Yes, lot's of dry wall. My husbands pillow (no pun intended). Hmm. That's basically it with the big stuff. Never had an issue with shoes, although, a brand new pair of shorts I bought with the tag still on fell victim. My husband had a big reunion planned and was BBQ'ing chicken wings on the fire pit grill. When he walked inside to get something, he came back to find every last chicken wing gone. That wasn't destruction but it's still a sensative subject in this house! LOL

This is a tough question having had at least one young Lab in the house most of the time since 1991. Of course it was the golden that ate the corner off the ottoman and a couple of my heavy wool socks. Perhaps being recent, I have to say the siding and trim on the house. You can go buy new shoes.

A very sentimental eraser.
And that includes £160 worth of shoes, the wall, a pair of jeans, countless books and homework, three huge chocolate bars I was saving for christmas, and a sizable chunk of the sofa.
All thanks to Marley, my lovable but dim golden retriever.
Most f this was done when she just turned six months old. We shut her in the kitchen (there isn't anything to chew in their, other than the wall and doggie bed which she'd already destroyed) while we went out for dinner. She somehow managed to jump on the door handle at such an angle that she was able to open the door, and hence wreck havoc.

My beloved coonhound..
Oh lord.. he has the craziest, and most expensive appetite :)
He chews every phone charger I have by my bed
He's eaten my baby blanket :(
He ate a hamper
He ate a Christmas Ornament, a glass ball
He ate one of my razors..
He loves to eat my chapstick
He tore up a pack of my cigarettes
He ate one heel, a pair of slippers..
He ate my college text book and many other books
And his greatest accomplishment.. he ate my mattress.
But I have to say, as time goes on, his chewing is getting alot better :) He's only 6.5 months old and now the only issue we're having is my phone charger.
Good luck with the chewing, I know it's a real pain in the butt !!

I used to have a pure-bred rottweiler who was a very big dog, but thought he was about the size of a chuiwawa. The most valuable thing he destroyed was a 52in flat screen tv. He was playing with the cats, jumped up on the tv stand (which was thin plywood) broke the piece of wood the tv was on, and the tv came crashing down to the tile floor and shattered.

Back in my equestrian days a good pair of boots was essential and I had saved up and purchased a great pair of working, western boots. So comfortable and a new idea for the time... no slip soles. Wow! I loved those boots.
My Doberman puppy loved those boots too. Mostly the toes.
