What colour are blueberries?

Me and my friends have been having a argument over what colour they are- blue or purple. Any why?

Update:

Thanks guys, I agree, but I actually need scientific reasons as well, otherwise she won't believe me...

In fact, you are all correct and there is no argument!

They are pale greenish at first, then reddish-purple, and finally dark blue when ripe

There is no naturally blue coloured foods. Even blueberries are mistaken for blue when they are an indigo shade or purple. http://www.omg-facts.com/view/Facts/3667 Blueberry yoghurt is also purple.
