I am the one who said the bible is 95% accurate. This has to be in question form, so is there anyone willing?

to take the time to study on your computer the Dead Sea Scrolls? If so...you will find the answers to your questions there....Good Luck in your research, it's right here on the computer, no checking out books or digging to hunt for information

Update:

folks, I just popped back in. I don't understand why you are willing to make remarks that are ugly instead of looking to see if the truth really exist. I won't put nothing on this section that I have not read. Then and only then ...I would be considered a liar. I don't make a habit of lying

The fact that the Dead Sea Scrolls don't textually deviate a great deal from modern Hebrew Scriptures does not at all give any more credibility to the Bible.

First of all, the Dead Sea Scrolls only date to between 150 BC and 70 AD. That's thousands of years after the writing of the earliest parts of the Old Testament, such as the Torah; therefore, that leaves thousands of years of potential textual variants which could have taken place long before the compilation of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Secondly, it's no surprise that the Dead Sea Scrolls match well with more modern manuscripts, as Jews were very good record keepers (unlike New Testament scribes).

Perhaps you should clarify that the Old Testament is "95%" accurate, as the New Testament has proven over an over again to contain countless textual variants.

For example, the story of the adulterous woman taken into adultery is completely fallacious; It was added many decades later to New Testament manuscript, and all Biblical Scholars (including the Christian ones) agree that it was not a part of the original writings of the New Testament, but rather a fictional story.

    Cheers.

The dead sea scrolls are still being studied by scholars from all over the world. A lot of religious "scholars" are assigning meanings to written characters because it fits their idea of what they think the scroll should say. If a little of the translation looks like something that happened in the times of the bible, they try to fit it into the bible. The scrolls prove nothing and some seem to disprove biblical scriptures.

There is nothing in the bible that can actually be verified. It's still folklore!!

The bible may be 95% accurate to the Dead Sea scrolls, that does not mean that the Dead Sea scrolls weren't a fantasy to begin with. The story of Santa I read last night was 95% accurate with the story it was taken from, it is still a fantasy.

I am sure that every answer (well almost every one) is correct from each persons point of view, and in the end it all boils down to do you believe in God, well do you, because i do and are any of you going to argue that what i say is true or not true? so if you do not believe in God and say it is not true, then why do so many of you heathens pray to God to help, when you are hurt and when you run into life's trouble's, "when you do not believe", so please do me a favour and shut up you non believing morons.

Saying the bible is 95% accurate is like saying Jeffrey Dahmer was normal.

And what if "The Illiad" is found to be 95% accurate?

No, I haven't the time to read up on ancient mythology like that.
