Question about cold sores?
My bf has had a cold sore for like 7 days I'm afraid of getting one. If I peck him will I get it? I shared a cigarette once with a girl who had a cold sore but I didn't get it. Is it because I cleaned around my lips with purell afterwards?

It is only contagious while it is leaking fluid or has fever. Once it is red and dried up the infection is over. Home remedies: apply lysol to a q-tip several times a day to dry up. Abreeva works well 3 times a day. Zilactin cream will kill it quickly, but makes a sore that takes weeks to heel. Keeping it moist with carmex cream is the best. Once you get it your body always has it and it comes out during stressful times or when you run a fever. Famvir prescription stops it and make it stay dormant for a long time. very contagious while white fluid is oozing. definately dont go down there if know what i mean while infection is active. let it dry and turn red.
