Would this be safe or hygenic?

Im staying in a room at a hotel/ pub!

I'm starting to run out of clean clothes, would it be safe or hygenic to hand wash some of my clothes with washing powder in a bathtub that is probaly share with 6-8 other people?

I'm thinking it is not a good idea for hygiene reasons but I'm not 100% sure!

Update:

BTW: I forgot the bath is also a shower recess, bath/shower!

I should be fine. I'm sure they keep the bath pretty clean. And most people don't have baths all the time if there's a shower.

But it's a bit of a hassle hand washing. Washing all the soap out takes ages. Then you can never squeeze all the water out the way a machine so it takes ages to dry.

I'd see if there was a local launderette or have you asked if the pub has a machine you could use cheaply.
