Best oil to use in 2004 Acura TL ?
I am experiencing valve chatter on cold starts in the morning when I leave for work. Once my car is warmed up it will be nice and quiet.. Any recommendations on an oil that will eliminate the valve chatter...?

A couple of considerations... First, though modern engines don't require a warm-up period before driving off, it's wise to avoid the higher rpm ranges during the initial 5 minutes after startup or so.
ACURA recommends 5W-30, which behaves like an SAE 30 weight oil once the car is warmed up, but also behaves like an SAE 5 oil during cold weather. This means your engine oil is more viscous or free flowing at the colder temperatures, and that's a good thing. In more temperate climates you could get away with using a straight 30 weight oil, though it's best to stick with the factory specified lubricant.
It's not necessary to use a synthetic oil, though many folks do. There are involved discussions about the pros & cons here, but singularly, the greatest advantages come from either high milage driving where the oil change intervals might exceed your vehicle's factory specs, or where an engine is driven particularly hard, such as in a racing application. However, a synthetic will not remedy the valve chatter you experience, selecting the proper oil viscosity will 'minimize' this. The best you can do here is stick with the factory's 5W-30, and avoid unnecessarily 'gunning' your motor during initial warm-up, takeoff.

I agree with mr if the car isn't yours don't buy it!!!!!! You don't know how long the owner has been driving the car like this or how much damage the gas in the oil has done to the engine internally. Especially don't buy this car if your getting it from a private seller or small mom and pop dealership because it will either be sold as is or you will be fighting to get them you help pay for repairs. Do your self a favor and go find a different car.

it would be synthetic and what ever type of viscosity the manual says you never change the viscosity. its nothing you can do the oil starts to thicken when cold out ans sits at the bttom of the pan and when the engine starts the parts arnt lubricated so you here the noise
