What is the reason for the season?

The winter solstice has been celebrated on December 25th longer than jeebus' alleged birth.

    Actually His conception, (by the Holt Spirit) was about the same date. That was how the Jews measured their age.. From time of conception. Not time of birth. And it was prophesied since the fall of man that in the fullness of time the redeemer would come to set the captives of sin free. Way long before the summer solstice.
