Republicans; Whats wrong with Jon Huntsman?

Just asking.

He's more conservative than Romney or Gingrich, doesn't flip flop his views every few months and supports Paul Ryans deficit reductions. He has more foreign policy experience than all the other candidates combined. He was reelected in one of the most conservative States and had the largest tax cut of any State.

I'm not a republican so I don't understand why, with all the crazy candidates, this guy isn't leading.

Well, part of the problem is Huntsman's inexperience as a candidate. His organization got off to a late start and has been lacking in social media and ground support. The other problem is personality. This election cycle is odd. There are an unusually high number of conservatives that want to see anger in their candidate. They want them to say outrageous things and be disrespectful to the President. Huntsman doesn't do that. He is congenial, respectful and stays on principle. Everything you would think most normal people would appreciate in a candidate. Not this time. People want blood. Conservatives like it when people like Trump, Gingrich, etc, question the President's citizenship and call him unamerican. They want to demonize him and the left as evil, and if a candidate doesn't do that, they think he is weak. All very sad really. What it comes down to is saleability. If someone can't sell his or her ideology, then unsavory tactics are often used to compensate. Such a shame. For example, most americans agree that the rich should pay more in taxes, which is what the democrats advocate. Yet, so many republicans who also agree the rich should pay more are reluctant to support the notion because they have been fooled into thinking that higher taxes for the rich is part of a leftist socialist plot that is evil. All very absurd!

Because he is not a loud mouthed bull sh1tter like the rest of them are and to which conservatives seem to gravitate to, but there is time yet, if or when it is revealed that Gingrich has a few more skeletons in his closet and he falls flat on his kisser, then Huntsman will jump up the line!!!

He will of course have to wait until the mad Harridan Bachmann has had her 15 minutes in the limelight of possible alternatives to Romney, and I also think he could be a VP pick for Romney also, that would give quite a few cons an early death for sure!!!

He's okay. He has been branded a liberal, but he is basically just a moderate. I am not too excited about any of the candidates, but he would be in my top 3, after Romney and Paul. The rest are a bunch of nutbags, especially Bachmann, who is completely insane. It is disappointing because in a year where we only need to put up someone mediocre to beat the incumbent, we can barely do that.

I like how all the libs here say he is so good, because they know he has no chance...if he somehow won the primary, watch how quickly they would turn on him and attack him ruthlessly.

He's a globalist who will use the global warming scam to further implement Agenda 21. But then, Romney and Gingrich will probably do the same thing. Ron Paul is our only hope to get out of the UN and protect our country from the progressive agenda which is redistribution of our wealth to the globalist elites under the guise of helping the third world nations.

Two reasons. The first is that he lacks charisma and appeal. In politics, those are far and away the most important factors in getting elected, not experience or mental sharpness.

The second is that he was previously Pres. Obama's appointee as Ambassador to China, an extremely important posting. This posting makes him suspect to Republican voters, who figure that Mr. Huntsman's political philosophy must be compatible with that of Mr. Obama, and Republican voters generally despise the political philosophy of Pres. Obama.

He seems to be the candidate that has the most even campaign, does not seem to be as self centered as the others, and speaks like a person who has the experience and know how to deal with both our national problems and in the global arena.

He wants to tax us for breathing and hes more concerned about Israel than America. In other words hes the typical GOP candidate. How is he any different than Newt or Romney? Do you even pay attention to the GOP debates?

He's unelectable and will never get the nomination. Look at the percentage of votes he gets. It's important that a candidate get approval by at least, say 10% of the people in order to even stand a chance. He is wasting his time running and ought to leave.

I've been listening to this kind of garbage about Ron Paul. It actually applies to your man much more than mine. So there you go.

He's a phony. He's only saying all that to win Republican primaries. He's a progressive; but then again, so is Romney and Gingrich

I admire Gingrich for his willingness to speak his mind and unapologetically speak the truth, but have reservations

I like Ron Paul, but think he's a bit naive on foreign policy

because the media is busy picking the next president of the usa, they know that obama is a one term experiment that went wrong and now want what they think they can controlll. it is because of the media's treatment of all republicans that would like to run do not. they and their families feel it is not worth the invasion of privacy that the news media has been known for. the media gives us very little true news but lots of sensational headlines that the articles seldom have substance for but that most readers never get past.
