Time names "The protester" as person of the year: Was I wrong to assume it would be a specific person?

They are obviously a liberal publication.

I think the person of the year should be a soldier who fought in Iraq coming home to see wife and kids. Those people are interlopers who have done nothing for our society other than giving sanitation workers and police overtime pay and tied up our court system due to all the arrests.

You know, I hate to be mean, but I can't help but think that there is a reason why these people are unemployed or underemployed, look at their actions and what they think is a solution, violence, indecency, public defecation/urination, etc. Would you hire them proudly? I would hire the person who has tried hard through all of this economy and found a way to do something, at least.

My daughter's friend graduated from college last spring and still has not found a job of any kind yet. she is cleaning three houses now and looking for more cleaning jobs with a college degree. She is not out there whining and looking for public assistance, she's trying hard during difficult times. I'd hire her if given the chance, she shows initiative.

Apparently you were wrong, and they did.

I think it was an appropriate selection on their part, as whether you agree with their cause or not, they did make an impact on society which will be heard for a long time.

It was. We just don't know whom.

Time has used couples, groups, an idea, a place, or even technology in the past.
