Can I wear black jeggings to a wedding?

A friend of mine is bar tending and needed help at a wedding reception with serving. I dont know if im helping with food or drinks. She told me to wear black slacks, but I dont have any. Will black jeggings do? Im planning on wearing a black blazer and a button up shirt underneath that. With flats. Is this okay to wear?

Update:

Jeggings are NOT leggings. You guys... Google them. They look like jeans but are as flexible as leggings. They are not skin tight, they arent sheer, and theyre more like cotton jeans. But they were in black. Lol. I dont even wear leggings because like that other person said, leggings are a joke. I would rather wear black pantyhose, or pants.

Anywho, I ended up borrowing my friends slacks.

Jeggings are a bit of a joke. I can assure you that in 10 years you will feel about them like women form the 60s look at lime green mini skirts. And they certainly don't belong at a formal event. Buy slacks.

Do not wear black leggings to a wedding. They look absurd under the best of circumstances. You look like you are walking around in black under-ware with a shirt and blazer on. It's as if you forgot to put on your slacks! For about $20, or even less, you can buy a pair of black slacks. You will not be sorry.

its not really a matter of can i wear them to a wedding its can i wear them to be a waitress and i would say the answer is no.

buy a cheap pair of black trousers, put them away in the cupboard you are bound to wear them again at some point. plus if you look the part then the chances are they might ask you to fill in again.

as long as you have a crisp nice white button down shirt, and the black blazer comes down to a decent area of your butt, not too short with the booty out, look classy it's someone elses day and they want every small detail to be perfect jeggins or not, look classy. use your own better judgement

would you like someone on your wedding in jeggings on your wedding? if not, buy the slacks...

it will look professional! not like some bum from street just from flashing his/her butt in more seedy areas of the town.

In my opinion, your job is to blend in. As long as you are wearing something black on your bottom parts and something white on your top parts - you'll be fine. If you're just filling in I wouldn't spend a ton of money on new pants. I think you'll be fine.

You need to look professional and jeggings will not cut it. Time to go shopping.

No. Leggings are not a professional look.
