Hamper ideas please!?
I know a young family, not much money, 5 year old son and I would like to give them a bit of a hamper at Christmas. I have nice biscuits and chocolates, a pudding, tinned ham and salmon.
Would like a few more ideas please if anyone can help. I'd like things they are obviously likely to like/use but probably can't afford.

Something for the adults, like a bottle or two of wine, good quality tea bags or coffee, etc would be nice, and something for the little boy, like some toy cars, a teddy, etc.
Also think about food items - not just traditional Christmas related food items - that a young family might eat if they could afford it: how about some of those Heinz tinned chocolate or syrup puddings, they're LOVELY and my kids love them! A carton or two of custard to go with them might be nice. Some savoury items too, like nuts (in shells, salted, spiced, etc), crisps / twiglets / nibbles. Even things like branded Heinz baked beans or spaghetti hoops / shapes may be well received. They're the kind of foods we all love (especially when we're five) but branded good like that are some of the first to get "traded down" when money is tight.

Choose two small books , preferably self-help books, they will thank you for this thing.. What about a bible for each member, or maybe you'd prefer to bring them an invitation to a party you'll make on Christmas, this way you'll ensure they're socially active. Maybe you bring a tie for the father, a shoos for the mother and a small T-shirt for the children, this way you ensure you haven't forget anyone. You know, it's great to have such things and having to prepare for them, you feel the joy.

Maybe give them a card, with a note in it, maybe a 10 or 20? Maybe some pie, and a toy for the little one:) Merry Chrismas:) Saff xo

How about some mini lotions, body washes? Stuff they can use for hygiene too. What about some little cupcakes, pastries, muffins??
