Do you recycle, or do you throw it all in the garbage?

We have a curbside recycling service available, but we choose to throw it all away anyway. :P

I recycle everything that my city wants me to because if I don't I will get a fine. They are known to go through peoples garbage to see if you are following the law.

Where I go to college, we have a recycle program, but after three or four separate incidences of watching the garbage truck empty the trash followed by the recyclables into the same truck within 2 minutes of each other, I no longer separate recyclables from trash. My guess is, our area like most areas, have a huge place where people are paid to sort the recyclables from the trash. And if they don't, then what's the point? Trash is trash. Period. I'm not gonna waste my time sorting it, if the garbage man just collects it all in one stop.

In regard to wise one: How can a city fine you, when garbage is defined as abandoned "property?" Usually by law, once on the curb, the garbage is no longer property of the residence in which it came from once it's on the curb.

Help save the planet and recycle. Do your part. Did you know the oceans have thousands of acres of plastic trash floating in the surface. Fish, whales and dolphins eat it and DIE. The ones that live end up on YOUR plate bringing with them cancer causing toxins.

...by just throwing it all away you are re-cycling... it all goes to the DUMP or the Landfill and in time it all degrades back into the Earth... Don't let the 'Greenies" intimidate you in to all the trash separating and environmental bull-schyt... Garbage is garbage... throw it out !
