Set up new Pioneer Elite receiver, and having problems?
I just set up a Pioneer Elite Vsx-31 receiver. When I try to watch a blu-ray disc, I get sound but no picture. If I watch TV, I get a picture but no sound through the receiver. I believe I'm using the right input (input 5 for my TV for the BD player, Ch 3 for TV) because I can see things like the Sirius menu if I press that button.
The blu-ray is connected to the receiver with an HDMI cable. The Receiver connects to the TV with a component cable (blue/red/green). TV audio connects with single yellow audio cable.
It looks to me like everything is plugged in right, but obviously I'm missing something. Any suggestions? Thanks!

As always; Read and fully understand the Owner's Manual
and connect your components as the manufacturer suggests.
Check your settings on your TV set. Check your component
cables for bad/loose connections and/or bad (patch) cables.
Also, check settings of said receiver. Start with default settings
and then adjust same as the manual dictates for optimum
performance. Happy Holidays!
