Is it time to break up or work throu it?

My boyfriend and i have been together 5 yrs. We currently live together and have a 9 mo old baby.

We argue all the time. Im stressed because i work 40 hours a week and he's home with the baby all day but the house is never clean. He does work maybe 2 nights a week but anytime he works he goes out after and comes home drunk and high when i have to be to work a hour later.

He has no goals! Im 26 he's 30, i wanna buy a house soon he does not contribute. He's been without a car for 2 years, i end up driving him around. He should be my equal, i should not feel like his mother. All he does when he's home with our son is play video games. I expect if he's not gonna work and stay home with the baby the house should be taken care of. Im tired of being stressed and feeling like the only adult. I dont know what the next step should be. He's lack of maturity and unwillingness to grow up has completely turned me off from him. What should i do?

i came to this question hoping to tell you to work through it but he's trying to have too much fun.

you are right, he's not willing to grow up... 2 years without a car at 30 years old is...just unacceptable. i agree that he should be your equal, not like a kid.

some things can happen to where he might be out of work, or things like that, but you are doing too much for the relationship and he isn't.

plus if he drinks and does drugs when he knows he has to take care of a baby, he's very irresponsible. I think it's time to break up...as sad as it is to say that.

a simple talk about this, won't change the problem, if it's how you described it. sure he'll say he'll change, but he won't. not if he's like that.

:( i'm sorry..good luck whatever you do though. hope it gets better.

~edit~ this is the 2nd post i've seen kendy comment on. that person has the worst english i've ever seen. i just had to add that in. i wouldn't take any advice from anyone who typed like that. that might be uncalled for, but that kind of writing bothers me x.x
