What college should I go to?
I am a junior in high school and my mom wants me to start looking at colleges and I don't know where to start. I am looking for a school in the southeast that is fairly selective and has a good engineering program. I have a 4.1 GPA, a 1370 SAT (770 Math, 600 Reading), and am in the top 10% of my class.
Anyone have a list of potential schools?? Also maybe a safety school??

Very good test scores and class ranking.
Your GPA will be recalculated for just academic subjects and on a 4.0 scale.
Which state? There are lots of excellent E schools all over the southeast. Might as well get the best value for a top education. The only exception would be if you were admitted to Georgia Tech which is world-class.
Also, any idea of which branch of E? Mechanical, Civil, Material and Metallurgical? Electrical? Computer? and lots more
Amend your answer slightly and you will get some good suggestions.

You simply look up colleges that are either geographically situated where you want to be,
if you really dig warm weather, do you want to go to the University of Alaska?
and you will have to make a list with a ranking system for yourself, nobody can do this for YOU because this will be unique to YOU.
There are factors that you can look up on line, like how expensive it is to live there & what sort of ranking or status do they have(?)
also please add detail, what is a "safety school"
Please look at my question ...

Google "engineering school rankings" or something similar to find schools and their rankings, then check their individual websites to learn about them. If that doesn't work, Google "engineering schools" or "engineering programs" and then Google the rankings of schools that interest you.
